Overview
The Dining Room Host or Hostess fills a key role in ensuring a fine dining experience for our residents and guests. They are responsible for maintaining high standards of food presentation, food handling, cleanliness, and dining room etiquette for themselves and our servers. This person must be friendly, helpful, and organized while exhibiting a cooperative and positive attitude towards residents, guests, and co-workers. Most importantly, they work diligently to ensure a happy dining experience for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and direct residents and guests entering the dining room
- Evaluate and adjust food service during meals and address residents’ concerns
- Conduct trainings for staff (dining room etiquette, table setting standards, etc.)
- Supervise dining room preparation of table linens, table settings, condiments, salad bar, coffee and beverage bar, menus, seating, and more
- Supervise storage and laundering of linens
- Maintain high standards of sanitation, personal hygiene, and food preparation, handling, and storage
- Monitor resident meal attendance
- Manage tray service
- Attend Resident Food Committee meetings
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
- Background in food service and/or previous hosting experience
